CARROT Weather is a crazy-powerful weather app that delivers hilariously twisted forecasts.
The snarky AI character known as CARROT makes the app fun and engaging, with mini-games to play, achievements to unlock, and thousands of lines of dialogue that change depending on weather conditions.
But CARROT Weather is also a professional-grade weather app with top-of-the-line features, from the notifications to the maps to the widgets to the multiple data sources to the insanely customizable user interface.
You've never experienced weather quite like CARROT Weather.
Version 6.0 Highlights
Version 6.0 is a complete redesign of CARROT Weather. It's been in active development for over a year.
- New Look. CARROT’s new design features a lively and ever-changing garden along with many major improvements to the app's user interface. (See below for details on all the new features.) While the new layout will be the default going forward, paid users will of course be able to keep their existing layouts.
- The Garden. The garden at the top of CARROT's new layout grows and changes over time. You'll see cute little robots named Droney, Rover, and Stretch pruning trees, watering plants, and delivering supplies throughout the day. At the start of each month, the garden's growth resets, so you'll never get bored looking at the same static scenery day in and day out.
- Data Point Picker. The new Hourly Forecast features a data point picker that lets you see all the weather data you care about without having to leave the main screen. As you select different data points like precipitation chance and wind speed, the hourly line chart animates smoothly and changes color - and it even updates the data points displayed in the Daily Forecast below, so you can see how things will change in the week ahead.
- New Layout Options. There are over a dozen new options available in Settings > Layout, including completely new styles for the Weather Alerts, Minutely Forecast, Hourly Forecast, and Daily Forecast sections. The highlight is the long-requested line chart for the Hourly and Daily Forecast sections, with options to change whether the line intersects with the icon or the data label, as well as the color of the line itself. The Minutely Forecast section also comes with an option to add a toggle to quickly switch between a Precipitation Chart and a Mini Map showing the radar for your area.
- Weather News. Gain insights into major weather events happening around the globe with articles sourced from AccuWeather. Stories that affect your specific geographic region will appear higher up in your layout, and ones related to active weather alerts will be featured on the Weather Alerts screen.
- Yesterday's Temperature. Get a better understanding of what today will feel like with the new popup notification that appears when you open the app in the morning comparing today's temperature to yesterday’s. You can also visit the Daily Details screen to see more information on yesterday's weather. (Note that this feature is only available for your current location and requires a Premium membership.)
